Translating research into patient care

Patient Leaflets

Airedale NHS Trust understands that better information means better choices, which leads to better health outcomes for patients and the public. We want to put information at the centre of health and make sure that our information is accessible, accurate and of a high quality.

All of our leaflets are available in other formats or languages on request. This means that we will provide leaflets and information in large print, Braille or your preferred language and can also provide this in audio format.

We try to make sure that our leaflets are easy to read but sometimes we will use medical words. A list of medical words and their meanings can be found at the NHS Direct Health Encyclopedia which may be of use to you. You can also find a list of medical terms and conditions, which have been provided by the Plain English Campaign.

Trust produced information leaflets are listed below by speciality in word format. The Trust has a whole library of patient information leaflets providing advice and guidance about the services we provide. All our leaflets are reviewed by our readers’ panel, consisting of volunteers from outside the Trust. This helps to ensure that the leaflets are clear and accurate.
