Translating research into patient care

7th June 2011 - Day in the life of a surgeon and specialist nurse

Staff from Airedale Hospital’s surgical and specialist nursing teams will talk about a typical ‘day in the life’ of a surgeon and nurse specialist at an event at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust next week.

The teams will share their experience of working in a busy operating theatre and the specialist nursing team for rheumatology.  The talk will be given twice, to give people who work office hours or shifts the opportunity to attend, and will be held in the Lecture Theatre, part of the Education Centre, at Airedale Hospital, Keighley.  The dates are:

  • Monday 13 June between 10.30 am and 12.00 noon
  • Monday 20 June between 6.00 pm and 7.30 pm

Free refreshments are available an hour before each event, in the Boardroom, and there is also an opportunity to drop in and meet public Governors and give your opinions on healthcare in your area during this hour.

The event is open to everyone including partners, relatives and friends and places are free, but do need to be booked in advance either by telephone on 01535 292727 (24hr answerphone) or via email members@anhst.nhs.uk

The talk is one of a series of events Airedale NHS Foundation Trust is organising to encourage people in and around the hospital to become more involved in its work.  Talks are organised monthly and cover a range of subjects and all are free.
