Do volunteers threaten the jobs of paid staff?
No. Volunteers are doing different work from that of paid staff and will not  be used to cover any staff shortages.

Who is ultimately responsible for volunteers?
The Director of Nursing is responsible for Voluntary Services at Board level.

Do volunteers need any qualifications?
No. Volunteers are required to attend training, be reliable and take a responsible attitude to helping at the hospital.

Can volunteers claim expenses?
Travel and out-of-pocket expenses can be claimed.

Do volunteers pay to park at Airedale General Hospital?
Volunteers are issued with free parking permits and can park in the staff car parking areas.

Are volunteer activities insured?
All registered volunteers are insured for the work they do as volunteers. They are given guidelines to ensure that they stay healthy and safe.
