1 September 2016 – New Youth Forum launched at Airedale Hospital
Young people are being urged to have a say in how Airedale Hospital cares for them in a new Youth Forum.
It will be designed for young people aged 13 – 19 to help shape hospital services and look at ways to make improvement.
The plan is to have up to four events a year to give young people an opportunity to get involved in decision making. The first forum is planned for Thursday 29 September in the outpatients department 6 – 8pm.
Lynsey Nicholson, patient experience officer for Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We hope that the forum will provide a great experience for young people to learn more about our hospital and its services. The first forum will be a really informal meeting with a chance to talk to staff, offer ideas and give a voice to young people in our future plans.
“They will have a chance to get some training, experience of being on a committee and try to improve things for our young patients of the future. They will also receive a certificate to be part of their personal statement.”
A short survey has been set up to find out more about the views and experiences of young people http://www.surveygizmo.eu/s3/90014840/Airedale-Youth-Forum to be completed by Friday 16 September. For more information contact by email: Nicole.firstname.lastname@example.org or Lynsey tel: 01535 294027
