18th November 2016 – Allied health professionals celebrate their achievements at Airedale Hospital
A celebratory event was held at Airedale Hospital to showcase the innovative work of Allied Health Professionals (AHPs). It coincided with the national National Allied Health Professions Week November 6-12 which seeks to raise the profile of 3m healthcare providers working in more than 80 professions working across 12 different professions including occupational therapists, physiotherapists and dietitians.
Health and social workers across the district visited market place held in the physio gym on site to network and find out about emerging practice, recruitment challenges, the adoption of new technologies and different ways of providing care to patients. The event was jointly organised by therapy staff from Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and Bradford District Care Foundation Trust.
Freya Sledding, therapy services manager at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This has been the first event of its kind at Airedale, it’s been a great success and we hope to build on it each year. We are really proud of the work that our teams do and wanted to promote it but also help other teams understand more about the changing roles in our workforce and new services and initiatives.”
