1st October 2015 – Read all about what’s happening at Airedale Hospital
Hot off the press is the fifth edition of Airedale’s popular Annual Record – a user-friendly newspaper version of the hospital’s annual report.
It is produced to let patients, their families and carers, health and social care workers and local people know more about the Trust’s developments over the past 12 months and what the hospital has to offer.
The newspaper, entitled The Annual Record 2015/2015, includes details of new services, major refurbishments and building work such as the new Emergency Department and pathology to improve patient care; awards that employees have won and profiles of staff and governors; advice on how to stay healthy; special features on telemedicine and dementia; charity work and fundraising; celebrity visits and sporting success; a page dedicated to young people, and ways in which patients can get more involved with their local hospital.
The publication was launched at the hospital’s public Open Day and is available in outpatients and two entrances to pick up. It will be sent out to some GP surgeries and be available at events the hospital takes part in throughout the year.
Shazad Sarwar, non executive of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust who lives in Nelson, said: “Our aim is to keep our patients and local people informed about what is going on in the Trust, including new services and developments.
“Hopefully this publication will help to spread the word that we welcome local people becoming more involved with our work and shaping our services.”
Copies of the Annual Record and Airedale Hospital’s Annual Report will be available on the internet at www.airedale-trust.nhs.uk
