Charity’s donation to Airedale Hospital gives children a boost

A welfare charity has donated a cheque to Airedale Hospital’s Children’s Ward following a fundraising football tournament. 17 November – Our Bliss volunteers celebrate World Prematurity Day with their heroes

A special team of volunteers at Airedale Hospital have marked World Prematurity Day (17 November) by holding two fundraising events.

The Bliss volunteers work at the hospital supporting parents of babies born premature or ill, who have to spend time – sometimes weeks or months – on the neonatal unit.

Alex Wright and Lisa Artis, both mums to premature babies, volunteer on the unit.

4 November 2016 – Macmillan bus stopping at Airedale on 10 November

A special bus run by Macmillan Cancer Support will be visiting Airedale Hospital on Thursday 10 November.

The bus, which is actually a mobile information centre, is staffed by Macmillan Information Specialists who will be offering free, confidential information and support to local people. Anyone is welcome, whether they have a cancer diagnosis, are visiting on behalf of a friend or relative, or are worried about cancer in any way at all.
