23rd October 2012 – New fundraising champion for Airedale Hospital
Young entrepreneur Bronagh Daly has been appointed to champion fundraising which will result in major improvements to facilities at Airedale Hospital.
She will be launching a number of campaigns to raise funds to refurbish areas of the the hospital, starting with the endoscopy unit.
With a love for life in the fast lane, Bronagh spends her spare time training for a triathalon for the Yorkshire based Brain Tumour Research and Support charity next Autumn with a 6am start to her day for masters swimming sessions at the Leeds Aquatic Centre.
Bronagh, charity fundraiser for Airedale NHS Foundation Trust Charitable Funds, said: “We receive many donations from members of the public whose friends and family are treated in our hospital, but some departments are simply more popular than others such as our children’s unit and the Haematology and Oncology Day Unit (HODU) where cancer patients are treated.
“There are other campaigns, which I will be launching, where we are struggling to get the funds we need to carry out vital improvements which will really benefit patient care in these key areas.”
She will be working closely with the hospital’s charities – Airedale New Venture and Friends of Airedale – and will be enlisting help from around 400 volunteers who help out in the hospital.
Bronagh is currently drawing up a calendar of fundraising events and activities and will be seeking corporate support from local businesses, recruiting more charitable donors and securing endorsement from local celebrities.
