27th December 2012 – Have your say on priorities for Airedale
How important is it for you to be able to have hospital appointments at the weekend and in the evening?
Do you think that better information to prepare patients for going home after a spell in hospital would be a great help towards their recovery?
Patients, carers and members of the local community are being urged to have their say on plans to develop hospital services – with the chance to win a prize.
Airedale NHS Foundation trust is seeking the views of its members and the general public on its annual plan, which describes what the hospital wants to do and how it proposes to do it.
Everyone who takes part in an on-line survey before 31 January 2013 will be entered for a prize draw to win a £25 voucher.
The questionnaire, describing the five priorities which the Council of Governors and the Board of Directors plan to focus on during 2013/14 can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/s/B5KWSFT.
The proposed priorities for the year ahead are;
- Preventing ill health and providing better early diagnosis and treatment
- Managing ongoing physical and mental health conditions to give a better quality of life and so care feels joined up
- Helping patients recover from ill health or injury
- Make sure patients experience better care not just better treatment
- Provide safe care in a clean environment
Jane Downes, company secretary for Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, said: “The online survey, which can be anonymous, takes just a few minutes to complete.
“This is a chance for you to really help us to shape the way services should be provided both in our hospital and in the local community in the future.”
For those without access to the internet, they can contact the Foundation Trust Membership Office on 01535 294540 and a printed copy of the questionnaire will be posted out to them together with a reply paid envelope.
