28 December 2016 – Maternity advice in collaboration with new Bounty app
Thanks to a partnership with Bounty, the company that provides pregnancy and birth information, mums-to-be and new mums at Airedale Hospital will now be able to instantly find out more information about the hospital’s services, and get health advice direct from the hospital by way of a new, free mobile app.
Since its preview last month at the Royal College of Midwives Conference, Airedale Hospital is among the first in the UK to sign up to offer the new Pregnancy by Bounty app.
The App supports families in the transition to parenthood (through each key life stage, from pregnancy to birth, to toddler, to pre-school) and uniquely allows parents to access and store the hospital’s important health and advice information securely and easily on own their phone.
App user ‘MazMaz888’ left a 5 star review, commenting “Loving it! Making it feel so real seeing the baby “growing” in the app. Having info from my local hospital is a really neat idea too.”
Maternity hospitals select the pregnancy and postnatal information they would like to share with parents. This includes specific, timely and relevant clinical, general health and wellbeing information – and/or information that helps parents and visitors to navigate their way around the hospital, or find out what to expect at antenatal appointments and during a mum’s stay on postnatal ward. Airedale’s Community Midwifery Manager, Clare Luby, says: “The app will include our own hospital leaflets, and will give local parents-to-be accurate advice and information based on our clinical guidelines”.
This collaboration between Bounty and Airedale Hospital will help parents to make the important decision about where to give birth that much easier. Using a mum’s location, the app automatically finds local hospitals within 30 miles or a hospital can be specifically searched by its name.
Bounty already works with the Trust as new mums on the maternity ward receive its Pregnancy Information Folders and free Bounty Newborn packs. The packs contain different free samples, money off vouchers and useful information, plus free guides offering practical and up-to-date information. This electronic advancement means mums will have access to this information from Bounty, as well as a wealth of resources provided by Airedale Hospital’s maternity department, at their fingertips.
Lisa Penney, Spokesmum at Bounty.com said: “We couldn’t be more excited to partner with local hospitals in order to give expecting and new mums a new practical, entertaining and personalised resource to assist on their pregnancy journey and beyond.”
The Bounty Pregnancy App resource is offered free to maternity hospitals and is available free, for all mums to download.
New and expectant mums can also claim free packs in-store straight from their phone. Simply search for Bounty Pregnancy in the App Store or Google Play, and once the App has been downloaded and mum registers her information, she will receive an alert to invite her to collect a new Bounty Gift Box, full of beauty and wellness samples it is available exclusively at Boots. Thereafter, as her pregnancy progresses and when baby is born she’ll be invited to claim the free Bounty Mum-to-Be and Growing Family sample packs.
