30th December 2014 – Temporary closure of X-ray and blood test services at Skipton Hospital
X-ray and blood test services at Skipton Hospital are closed temporarily during part of January due to essential electrical work.
Patients with appointments for either radiology or phlebotomy services have been notified and will attend clinics at alternative venues, such as Airedale General Hospital, for approximately two weeks in the New Year.
Patients who usually use the ‘drop in’ sessions at Skipton Hospital, for either blood tests or X-rays, can attend the following alternative locations.
- For X-rays, patients can attend the radiology department at Airedale Hospital between 10:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday – no appointment required.
- For blood tests, patients can attend either the outpatients department at Airedale Hospital between 8:45am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday; Dyneley House Medical Centre between 8:30am and 11:30am, Monday to Friday or Fisher Medical Centre between 8:30am and 11:30am, Wednesday to Friday only. All of these venues offer drop in sessions where no appointment is required.
The electrical work is part of a larger project to refurbish the infrastructure at Skipton Hospital and the services apologise for any inconvenience this essential work may cause patients. The phlebotomy and X-ray services expect to resume clinics at Skipton Hospital during the week of 19 January 2015.
