4 March 2013 – Airedale Audiologist named one of the best for four years
An audiologist, who cares for patients with hearing difficulties at Airedale Hospital, has been specifically commended in a national competition for the fourth year in a row.
Alan Walshaw, a senior audiologist with Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, has received a certificate of commendation in recognition of his achievement in the UK Audiologist of the Year awards.
Alan, 45, who has worked at the hospital for seven years, says: “Looking after someone’s hearing is a huge responsibility and I am delighted to be thought of so fondly by mu patients.”
Run by hearing aid battery manufacturer Rayovac and hearing industry publishing group Audio Infos, the competition is voted for by hard of hearing people across the country. It is judged independently by a panel of leading industry experts and rewards professionals who go the extra mile to help patients.
