Airedale wins prestigious CHKS Top Hospitals award
Airedale NHS Foundation Trust has been named as one of the CHKS Top Hospitals for 2019 and this is the eighth time Airedale has been given the award, which recognises outstanding performance in healthcare quality and improvement.
The winners are decided by an analysis of over 20 performance indicators carried out by healthcare improvement specialists CHKS.
The data from all hospital trusts in England, Wales and Northern Ireland is regularly submitted to NHS Digital to help track performance in a number of areas, including quality of care and patient safety. The performance indicators cover: safety, clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient experience and quality of care. The indicators are revised annually to take into account any newly available performance information.
Brendan Brown, Chief Executive of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust said he was delighted the Trust had been given the CHKS awards for 2019, as this acknowledges the commitment and dedication of colleagues at the Trust, across its hospital, community, clinical and non-clinical teams. ‘I’m pleased our performance has been recognised as this is testament to colleagues’ continuing hard work and determination and supports our commitment as a small integrated Trust to deliver modern health care to our diverse communities.’
Moyra Amess, Director, Benchmarking, Assurance & Accreditation, Capita Healthcare Decisions, said: “The Top Hospital award recognises outstanding performance in those areas which we believe are critical to delivering good patient care. We are delighted that Airedale NHS Foundation Trust is one of our Top Hospitals for 2019.”
