First class Family and Friends Test results for Airedale
Patients are overwhelmingly recommending Airedale Hospital as a place for their family and friends to get treatment.
The Friends and Family Test, which was introduced nationally in 2013, asks patients to consider their experience of the hospital service that they’ve been using and state whether they would recommend the service to their friends or family. An incredible 97% of the 24,962 patients surveyed over the last year said that they were likely or extremely likely to recommend Airedale’s services, which include outpatient clinics, inpatient services, maternity and community services.
Chief Executive Bridget Fletcher is delighted with the results. “This is a fantastic result for us, and a real testament to our amazing staff who work so hard to give local people the best possible healthcare. We do get a lot of compliments to individual services and staff, but a recommendation rate of 97% across the Trust really shows that we’re succeeding at what we do across the board.
“As a learning organisation, we naturally want to learn from the people who wouldn’t recommend us, and understand how we can do better. However we can build on this success and I would like to thank our patients for such generous feedback.”
And the results have been noted at the highest levels. The Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP, Secretary of State for Health, has written to the Trust to offer his congratulations and to thank the 3000+ staff for the excellent recommendation rate. In his letter he says: “Please do pass on my congratulations to all those who work at the Trust; the service they give makes a real difference to the lives of many of the area’s sickest and most vulnerable patients”.
