Our Christmas card winner
A Bradley boy has won a competition to design a Christmas e-card for Airedale hospital that was sent to all 2500 staff and from the hospital to other local organisations.
Twelve year-old Josh Draper’s design of a singing Christmas tree was chosen as the winner of the festive contest by Brendan Brown, chief executive of Airedale Hospital.
Josh, who lives in Bradley and goes to Ermysted’s Grammar School, took part in the competition after hearing about it from his nana, Linda Collinge who works at the hospital.
Josh’s mum Ali said: “His dad is a graphic designer so he definitely takes after him.”
The competition took place in November and December and was open to all children visiting children’s outpatients department or being cared for on the children’s ward and was also open to children of staff.
Children were asked to draw a festive themed picture to be used as the trust’s electronic Christmas card with the winning entry awarded a £20 voucher as their prize.
Brendan Brown, Chief Executive at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Josh has done a great job, we loved his design, he’s obviously very talented”
