The maternity department at Airedale Hospital is inviting the public to join them for their second Maternity Open Day.
Taking place on Saturday 6 April in the education centre at Airedale Hospital, the Open Day will include a variety of information stalls, a raffle, tombola and face painting, as well as the opportunity to have a tour of the maternity facilities, parent education taster sessions and chat with some of the midwives. This year, there will also be a baby photography booth.
Gemma Sayer, a midwife who has helped to organise the event, says, “We’d like to take this opportunity to celebrate the work that goes on in all of our maternity services. We really enjoyed putting on the event last year, and can’t wait to have an even better one this year! Whether you’ve had a baby at Airedale in the past, are currently pregnant or just generally interested in the maternity services we offer, you are more than welcome to come along.”
Sarah Simpson, head of midwifery, says, “A lot of hard work has gone into planning what will be a fantastic event and I’m really proud to work with such an incredible team of midwives and midwifery staff who have done an amazing job.
“There will be something for all the family with games and face painting for children, and lots of useful information for parents. Money raised from the raffle and tombola will go towards soft furnishings and equipment for the unit.”
The event is free and will take place between 10am and 4pm. Visitors should make their way to the education centre, building 18. There will be free parking available.
