man and woman walkingIf you live in the Craven area and look after someone with dementia, Alzheimer’s Society is now taking bookings for its Carer Information and Support Programme (CrISP).

This offers carers the chance to meet others and share experiences, as well as find out more about local and national services and support.

There are two courses:

  • for family members and friends supporting someone with a recent diagnosis of dementia (4 sessions);
  • for those who need support to deal with issues as dementia develops (3 sessions).

To book a place, or to find out more, ring 01423 813463.

Also in Craven, Carers Resource will be running some reminiscence sessions for carers and people living with dementia and memory loss.

There will be six weekly sessions where you and the person you care for can come along to share your memories, meet new people and make new friends.  You will be able to make a memory box to take home.

All sessions are free and refreshments are provided.

‘My memories and me’ will run in Skipton in March and also in Settle (tbc).  You can book a place by ringing Elaine Owen at Carers Resource on 01423 500555.
