W is for Keep Warm

As the weather turns colder, one of the best ways to keep well during winter is to stay warm.  Find out more on the NHS Choices website.

If you are less mobile, are 65 or over, or have a long term health condition, you should heat your home to at least 18C.

There’s lots of good advice, including about getting help with the cost of heating your home, in this booklet, Keep warm, keep well.  You can find out about Winter Fuel Payments and Cold Weather Payments.

If you want to speak to someone about paying your energy bills and keeping warm, you can ring the Home Heat Helpline on 0800 33 66 99 or contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau.

If you need help to pay for a new heating system or repairs and insulation, check if you qualify for the Health through Warmth scheme.
