At Airedale NHS Foundation Trust we offer all suspected cancer referral patients an appointment within two weeks of their GP referral.
If you have suspected lung cancer, you will have been referred to see a chest physician/doctor by your GP or other specialist. Usually prior to this appointment you will have had either a chest x-ray, CT scan or both. The doctor will discuss your current symptoms/problems and following a clinical examination will discuss your scan results and any further tests that might be required.
There are a number of different investigations that we provide locally, however PET scanning is undertaken at Leeds or Bradford;
CT scans and Ultrasound
Bronchoscopy – a test to look at the inside of the breathing tubes (airways) in your lungs
