Upper Gastrointestinal Cancers
The upper gastrointestinal team specialise in diagnosing, treating and caring for people with cancers of the upper GI tract including; oesophagus (gullet/food pipe), stomach, pancreas, liver, gall bladder and biliary tree.
At Airedale NHS Foundation Trust we offer all suspected cancer patients an appointment within two weeks of their GP referral. We have a rapid access to the endoscopy unit which provides facilities for upper GI endoscopy.
We offer a range of services by a team of specialists, including;
Scans– we can provide MRI scans, CT scans and PET scans. These are important as they provide information about abnormalities inside the body that are not otherwise seen
Endoscopy– endoscopies are carried out on our endoscopy unit
ERCP carried out in endoscopy
