Upper Gastrointestinal Cancers
The upper gastrointestinal team specialise in diagnosing, treating and caring for people with cancers of the upper GI tract including oesophagus (gullet/food pipe), stomach, pancreas, liver, gall bladder and biliary tree.
At Airedale NHS Foundation Trust we offer all suspected cancer patients an appointment within two weeks of their GP referral.
We offer a range of services by a team of specialists, including;
-
Scans – we can provide MRI scans, CT scans and PET scans. These are important as they provide information about abnormalities inside the body that are not otherwise seen
-
Endoscopy – endoscopies are carried out on our endoscopy unit
-
Oesophageal stenting
-
