Urological Cancer

Urological cancer covers cancer of the kidney, bladder, prostate, testicles and penis.

At Airedale NHS Foundation Trust we offer all suspected cancer patients an appointment within two weeks of their GP referral.

We run a number of services for patients diagnosed or suspecting urological cancer, including;

  • Rapid access prostate assessment clinic

  • Combined clinical oncology and surgical clinic at Bradford Teaching Hospitals

  • Haematuria clinic (in our endoscopy unit)

  • Prostate clinic

All patients diagnosed with urological cancer are discussed at a multi-disciplinary team meeting. This is where a group of doctors and other health professionals involved in your care and treatment discuss and decide together the best treatment options for you.

A team of specialist staff provides support to patients diagnosed with urological cancers before, during and after treatment.

We work closely with Bradford Teaching Hospitals. If you are required to have major prostate surgery you will be transferred here.

We also work closely with our research team and you may be approached to take part in a clinical trial, which is your decision to make. It is entirely your decision if this is something you’d like to take part in.
