A new Electronic Patient Record for Airedale

Airedale NHS Foundation Trust will start using a new Electronic Patient Record in October 2026

An Electronic Patient Record – EPR – is a safe digital record of your hospital care.  It keeps important information about your care in one place.

Your hospital record may include your appointments, test results, medicines, allergies, treatments and care notes. An EPR helps staff to see this information more easily when they are looking after you.

This autumn, the Trust is moving from its current patient record system to a system called Oracle Health Millennium.  We are investing in this new system as part of our commitment to providing the best possible care and experience for our patients.

Benefits of the EPR for patients
The new system will help us to:

  • Make sure the right information is available to the right people when it’s needed.
  • Improve communication between the teams involved in your care.
  • Reduce the need for information to be entered more than once.
  • Support safer, more coordinated care.
  • Lay the foundations for new digital services for patients in the future.

This is an important step in our journey to provide high-quality, joined-up care for everyone who uses our services.

What happens next?

Airedale will be going live with the new system over the weekend of 17 and 18 October 2026.  The hospital has been preparing for the new system, including staff training, final system checks and support.

You do not need to do anything differently.  Please attend your appointment as booked.  We will contact you if for any reason we need to change something.

Some things may take a little longer at first while staff get used to the new system. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please check this website for the latest information.

You will also see posters and leaflets in our hospitals and clinics, or ask your doctor, nurse, therapist or a member of the admin team.

We’re introducing a new system to help our staff access and share information more easily, giving them more time to focus on what matters most: caring for patients.  As healthcare technology continues to evolve, the new system will provide additional functionality and greater opportunities to improve how information is shared, accessed and used across our services.

Only staff who need your information to care for you will be able to see it. Your information will still be kept safe and private.
