Artist’s impressions that show what our new hospital could look like

Building a hospital for the future

By building a new hospital we have a one-off opportunity to improve services and facilities for both patients and staff.

We are not simply replacing a building. Detailed research has gone into designing a modern, state-of-the-art hospital tailored to the healthcare needs of our communities, now and in the future.

More than a hospital

We are not simply replacing a building – we are designing a hospital for the future and transforming how we provide care and services for our communities.

In line with the NHS 10 Year Plan, we will provide more outpatients appointments, diagnostic tests, therapy services, and recovery care in local community hubs, while the new Airedale provides the specialist services that need to be delivered in hospital.

As part of our plans we will also provide outpatients services in a separate new building, immediately next to the new hospital. This will make it easy to access the building from both the car park and the hospital to:

  • Reduce footfall and congestion in the new hospital
  • Make it quicker and easier for patients to get to their outpatient appointments.
