Airedale NHS Foundation Trust has put forward a bid to develop a new hospital for Airedale to replace our current hospital which has reached the end of its life.
We are in a great position to be able to build a new hospital on our existing 43-acre site and our plans would see the creation of the first carbon-neutral hospital in Europe, directly contributing to local and global efforts to combat climate change.
The current configuration of the site means that this land isn’t utilised in the best way. We have an opportunity through building a new hospital to create an asset for patients, staff and the local community by make more of the outdoor space which will promote wellbeing and recovery.
A new hospital site with a state-of-the-art, carbon neutral hospital and outdoor space that everyone can enjoy and benefit from.
Our driving factors for our securing a new hospital include:
- Environment and sustainability
- Digital transformation
- Financial sustainability
