Traffic disruption at Airedale Hospital
People coming to Airedale Hospital for appointments later this month are asked to allow extra time as there will be a period of traffic disruption.
From Monday 22 November until Monday 6 December there will be hourly deliveries of large loads to the building site at the rear of the hospital which may cause some traffic hold ups around the hospital’s perimeter road.
This is all part of the building process for the new intensive care unit. The building is a modular build, which means that it is constructed from sections that are made off-site and then brought to the hospital and fitted together. It is the deliveries of these sections that will potentially cause some traffic disruption.
David Moss, MD of AGH Solutions managing the project for Airedale, said: “This is an exciting stage of the development as the building will now go up quickly.
“130 modular sections are being delivered on to our site over a period of 10 days. We apologise for the disruption that it will cause and hope that visitors and staff can bear with us during this period. Thank you in advance for everyone’s patience – we will try to keep the disruption to a minimum.
“This short period of pain will ultimately give us a fantastic new intensive care facility and ward for our patients.”
