Nurses working within our cardiology unit work within a multidisciplinary team. You’ll develop professional skills and be supported by matrons and our practice development team.

Our coronary care unit has 4 coronary care monitored beds and 13 inpatient beds. We work closely with partner organisations – the cardiac catheter lab and Leeds General Infirmary.

Elderly Care

Do you have a passion for caring for our elders? We’re home to two wards dedicated to the care of the elderly. They specialise in complex care and dementia.

Just some of the clinical skills that our nurses practice on our elderly wards are venepuncture, male catheterisation, cannulation, ECG recording.

Our teams here are passionate about creating a friendly and welcoming environment and they work closely with other staff across the organisation to provide a high level of quality care. They also work hard to make sure our patients are discharged from the hospital in a safe and efficient way.

Stroke Rehabilitation

Could you work hard to help someone recover from a stroke? We look after patients within 24 – 72 hours of a stroke on our Stroke and Rehabilitation ward. It’s here that we specialise in stroke and neurology care.

We’re a multi-disciplinary team and our Nurses work alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. It’s a positive and enthusiastic environment to be in – it’s all about looking after people who are recovering from a stroke.

We support all our Nurses within stroke rehabilitation to develop and undertake additional clinical skills within their practice and attend programmes in nursing development and leadership.

Respiratory

Our acute respiratory ward cares for patients with a range of lung conditions such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV), Asthma, Lung fibrosis and TB.

It’s here that our Nursing teams work closely with respiratory nurse specialists and community staff. Could you thrive in providing quality respiratory care and treatment for our patients?

You’ll have access to ongoing training and development across a wide range of in-house courses. If you’re newly qualified then there’s a fantastic preceptorship programme too.

Rehabilitation

Our rehabilitation team are part of our core nursing team. They’re a group of passionate, enthusiastic and motivated staff and deliver high quality care to our patients.

Seeing someone achieve a rehabilitation goal is incredibly rewarding. You’ll help them to overcome daily challenges. Does this sound like something you’d like to do?

It’s here you’ll work alongside Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and social workers to help people achieve their goals. It’s an exciting place to be.

Trauma and Orthopaedics

Could you help people recover from musculoskeletal trauma? This is a busy environment and you’ll get to meet and help many different people. They’re usually with us for two to three days.

Our Trauma and Orthopaedic ward has a dedicated Fractured Neck of Femur bed and our orthopaedic elective surgery ward undertakes shoulder, hip and knee replacements.

It’s a place where you’ll train, learn and develop continually with our in-house courses and a good place to start as a newly qualified Nurse as you can follow our preceptorship from here too.
