Ward 5 received an incredible eight nominations for Team of the Year!
Whether they’re supporting patients through long and complex recoveries or providing dignified end-of-life care, the Ward 5 team offers unwavering kindness not only to patients but also to their families by making them feel involved, informed and supported.
Our three Team of the Year awards were generously sponsored by Archus.
The team’s win was cemented by the glowing feedback they have received from patients and their loved ones:
“During the eight weeks we spent on the ward, it did not feel like hospital. Every member of staff, from the young man that changed the bin bags to the tea trolley staff, treated us like family. Endoscopy
The whole Endoscopy team work exceptionally hard to deliver outstanding care to patients and consistently receive positive feedback.
The team worked really hard in 2024 to maintain their accreditation from the Joint Advisory Group for Endoscopy (JAG). This accreditation involves the team providing evidence to demonstrate that they meet each element of the 18 fundamental standards of the global rating scale. All members of the team contribute to this accreditation work through care delivery, clinical audit and participation in individual learning requirements.
Over the past year the whole team have developed as one and welcomed a new senior and junior sister, a number of new registered nurses and a new trainee nurse endoscopist.
Morale and motivation within the team has improved and every day is framed and focused around the delivery of the highest quality safe patient care. Everyone is kind, compassionate and supportive of each other which enhances the overall wellbeing of the team.
