The UK’s first blood transfusion information app has been launched, co-created with patients, for patients.
My Transfusion is suitable for adult patients, carers, their families, or anyone who may need blood transfusion as part of their care. It may also be a useful source of information for health care staff involved in the transfusion consent and decision-making process.
The app includes information on topics such as:
- Key information about blood transfusions
- Other available options in place of transfusion
- Preparing for transfusion/s
- Consent for transfusions
- Transfusing blood most suited to you
- Safety checks prior to transfusion
- When to seek medical help following a transfusion
The app is free to download from the App and Google Play stores by searching ‘My Transfusion’.
