Area of responsibility
Fiona joined the Trust in December 2022 and manages all aspects of the Trust’s corporate governance framework, working closely with the Board of Directors and the Council of Governors. She also advises on the corporate governance requirements of the Trust’s subsidiary and joint ventures and major priority programmes. Fiona also oversees the Trust’s communications activity and the Airedale Hospital & Community Charity.
Committee membership
Fiona oversees the operation of the Board of Directors and Council of Governors in her role as Trust Secretary. She is available to support all in an advisory capacity though regularly attends the Audit & Risk Committee, the Charitable Funds Committee, Nominations and Remuneration Committee and Appointments and Remuneration Committee.
External Appointments
None. Fiona has recently stood down as the chair of Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy (CIPFA) Risk Editorial Panel.
Qualifications
Modern European Studies with German BA, First Class Honours.
Post-Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Governance.
Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma.
Background / Profile
Fiona is an experienced NHS corporate governance specialist who has worked in a variety of roles at national and local level and across all sectors (acute, community, mental health and learning disabilities, ambulance and commissioning). She is a confident and personable team player with a strong focus on outcomes and improvement. Fiona is dual qualified in corporate governance/corporate affairs and marketing/communications and has experience of working with the Charity sector.
