Area of responsibility
This role supports the operational delivery of Therapy Services at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, working closely alongside partners in Bradford District and Craven. The Deputy Chief AHP element of the role supports the Chief AHP in the strategic development and leadership of AHPs across the Trust.
Areas of responsibility include:
- Therapy Services which includes: Children’s therapy, Stammering, Acute Therapy (Frail Elderly, Orthopaedics, Cardio-respiratory and Medicine), Mobility Services, Community Therapy Teams, Therapy Administration, Specialist Rehabilitation, AIRE Unit, Nutrition & Dietetics, Healthcare Psychology, MSK Physiotherapy and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy.
- Leadership for Allied Health Professionals across the Trust as Deputy to Freya Sledding (Chief AHP).

Background / Profile
Laura is a Dietitian by background, qualifying in 2006 and has worked in Rochdale in diabetes care, County Durham on acute wards, in a care home service and currently Airedale.
Laura has worked at Airedale since 2010, initially in a Diabetes lead role and in 2016 she was appointed to the role of Professional Lead for Dietetics and then operational manager for Dietetics and Healthcare Psychology.
In May 2023, Laura was appointed into her current role as Head of Therapy Services and Deputy Chief AHP. Alongside this leadership role, Laura works as a Specialist Dietitian for offender health half a day a week, working with prisoners with a range of health conditions.
Laura is also a qualified coach and enjoys coaching colleagues across the Trust.
