I am the Director of Midwifery and Nursing for Women’s, Children’s and Specialist Services at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, a role I have held since April 2018. I began my career with the Trust in 2007 as a community midwife, providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to women and families across the local community.

Since joining Airedale, I have developed extensive clinical, operational and strategic leadership experience within maternity services. My roles have included Antenatal and Newborn Screening Coordinator, where I led the development of antenatal screening services in line with the National Screening Programmes, as well as Antenatal Clinic and Maternity Assessment Centre Manager, with operational responsibility for the labour ward and postnatal ward.

My appointment as Maternity Matron further strengthened my organisational and operational leadership skills and provided the foundation for my subsequent roles as Head of Midwifery and Director of Midwifery. Alongside my professional roles, I have continued to pursue academic development to support my career progression and enhance my contribution to service improvement.

I remain deeply committed to maternity services and to working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver safe, effective and responsive care for women, babies and families. As Airedale NHS Foundation Trust is my local hospital, I am particularly motivated by the opportunity to serve the local population and help shape services that meet the needs of our communities.
