Professional background

I joined Airedale General Hospital as a Matron in April 2023.  My professional career commenced in 2002 when I qualified as a Registered Nurse and worked at Pinderfield’s Hospital as a Staff Nurse in Orthopaedic Trauma.  In 2007 I moved to work in Plastics and Maxillofacial Surgery at Bradford Royal Infirmary.  During my time at Bradford, I was Ward Sister on Plastic Surgery, Orthopaedic Trauma and Day Surgery.  In 2015 I moved into the Clinical Risk team as a Clinical Risk Manager, progressing to Head of Clinical Risk.  After having my little boy in 2017, I took a complete change of career moving into Neonates as a Staff Nurse.  After a return to the Clinical Risk team in 2020, I stayed there until 2023.  A yearning to move back closer to patient care and an operational role prompted my move to my Matron’s role at Airedale.   I have a passion for ensuring that safe and effective care is provided for patients and that staff feel supported to be able to deliver this care whilst maintaining their wellbeing.  I am also driven to improve the services we provide fostering best practice to meet the needs of the patient population.

The Endoscopy Team focus on providing such a high standard of care to their patients.  I am proud of the team and glad to be able to support them in my role.
