The Trauma and Orthopaedic department offer Planned (elective) and Trauma services for bone and joint conditions.

The Trauma and Orthopaedic team consists of Surgeons, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Plaster technicians, Nurses and non-clinical Support Staff. The team works together to ensure the very best care is available for bone and joint problems.

Our locations

The Trauma and Orthopaedic team work across multiple sites to provide care.

Airedale General Hospital Locations:

Ward 9:  Location A19: This is the Trauma inpatient ward, where acute Orthopaedic patients receive their care.

Ward 18: Location B4:
This is the Planned (elective) inpatient ward, where elective inpatients (for example Hip or Knee replacement patients) receive their care.

Ward 20: Location B16:
This is the Surgical Day Unit, where day case Trauma or Planned (elective) patients receive their care.

Fracture Clinic: Location A1, Clinic 12:
This is where the Outpatient Trauma Clinics are held. Trauma Clinics run daily but an appointment is required. These are usually provided by the Accident and Emergency Department.

Planned (elective) Outpatient Clinics:
Location A1, Planned (elective) Trauma and Orthopaedic clinics are provided at Airedale General Hospital in the Outpatient Clinic area.

Airedale Physiotherapy Department: Location A9:
The physiotherapy department provides Physiotherapy services for Trauma and Planned (elective) Patients The Multi-disciplinary Upper Limb One Stop Clinic is also held in the physiotherapy Department at Airedale General Hospital.

This where casts and splits are applied, adjusted and removed.

Trauma and Orthopaedic clinics are provided at Skipton General Hospital in the Outpatient Clinic area.

The Department provides Physiotherapy services for Trauma and Planned (elective) Patients.
