Here at Airedale, our people are our greatest asset and our Rainbow group offers a safe place for people to come together to share experiences, tackle issues and help us to become a better, more inclusive employer.

Whether you identify as LGBT+ or are an ally of the community, we’d love you to join our Rainbow network.
You can be a core member, an active member or simply an ally – there’s something for everyone who wants to show their support.

Our Network exists to ensure that views and concerns around the LGBT+ communities are represented and considered at organisational level, and that their interests continue to form a part of the Trust’s wider equality and inclusion agenda.

What we’ve been involved in

Our network have been listening to feedback not only from colleagues but the friends and family test, and are pleased to say we are taking part with In With The Bins Campaign (wordpress.com) where all toilets will be inclusive for all.  We have also introduced and about to launch Trust and AGH Solutions ID Cards with Pronouns on, where colleagues can opt to have their preferred pronouns on their ID Card.

Our network has also linked up with Bradford Council, Bradford Teaching Hospitals, Bradford District NHS Foundation Trust,  Bradford University along with West Yorkshire Police,  LGBTQ+ Networks to form a LGBTQ+ Collaborative Network, which is the first for West Yorkshire and to have a bigger network to support each other, and have a louder voice on issues that colleagues who identify as LGBTQ+ face.

We’ve also taken part at Ilkley Pride, and are again for 2024, along with Bradford Pride, with the Collaborative Network.
