Our Menus

Adult Menu

Our Adult menu is currently a 2 week menu cycle, and a member of the Housekeeping and Catering Team will advise you on the daily options for each meal service.  You can find the menus at the bottom of this page.

Childrens Menu

Our younger patients are offered a bespoke menu that has been chosen to reflect a more staple, home favourite menu.
In addition to this, finger food, sandwiches and salads are also available for patients. A hot dessert is offered at lunch and a cold dessert at the evening meal time.

Finger Food Menu

Our finger foods menu is aimed at supporting patients who have dexterity issues in using cutlery and would benefit from being empowered to be able to self feed. All items on this menu are intended to be able to be consumed without needing to use cutlery.
There are hot and cold options and the hot items have been selected to still be palatable even if cooled with slower eaters.
Although most suitable for patients with dementia. The finger food menu is also highly suitable for adults and children with a range of other clinical needs.

Textured Modified Menu

We have a range of Texture Modified Menus for patients with clinically diagnosed Dysphagia. These meet the International Descriptors for Dysphagia diets.

Other Menus

In addition to the menus above, we also offer menus to support patients with multiple allergens, and to meet certain cultural and religious requirements.

Other Special Diets

Additional special meals or snacks, which are required to meet an individual patient’s clinical needs and which are in addition to items on the full range of Patient Menus, can be ordered via our dietetics department. Please make a member of the clinical team aware that you have a specific dietary requirement or any allergens.

Meal Times and Offerings

A member of the Catering team will assist patients with choosing their meals and will ask what their meal choice is for the day. This will then be ordered for them. Patients are offered 3 meals a day, and in between meals, patients are offered beverages, which include, Tea, Coffee, Decaf Tea, Decaf Coffee, Herbal Fruit Teas, Malted Drink, Hot Chocolate, Juice and Water. Patients are also offered an additional snack at beverage rounds, which include biscuits, crisps, cake and fresh fruit. We also have a range of snacks for patients who follow a Gluten free diet.
At times, patients may not always be able to choose their meal due to a number of reasons. When this the case, a snack pack will be provided, consisting of a sandwich, a yogurt, a drink, and a slice of cake.

Breakfast 0740-0900

Our Catering Team offers a selection of porridge, cereals, white and wholemeal bread with spread and a selection of preserves.

Lunch – 1140-1300

Lunch is a two course meal with a choice of hot options featuring a selection of potatoes and vegetables to accompany the meal. Sandwiches and Salads are also available for patients to choose from, along with our finger food menu. The desserts offer a hot pudding with custard, a hot milk pudding, fresh fruit, yogurts or cheese and crackers option.
Our lunch menu includes a fish and chips lunch on a Friday and a Roast Dinner on a Sunday

Supper / Evening Meal 1640-1800

Our Supper or evening meal choice is a 3 course meal offer with a soup to start or fruit juice, along with hot options with a selection of potatoes and vegetables to accompany the meal. Sandwiches and Salads are also available for patients to choose from, along with our finger food menu. Desserts are a cold offering, along with fresh fruit, yogurts or cheese and crackers option.

Emergency Department (ED)

We appreciate that not all patients are on a ward and some come via our Emergency department, prior to admission. If you are a patient on ED, you may be offered breakfast, a hot meal or snack pack

Out of Hours

For any patient who is admitted past our meal times, a snack pack or toast will be offered to you by a member of the clinical team.
